Air emissions - particulates (PM2.5)
AGL Loy Yang emissions increased 71%.
Bayswater Power Station emissions decreased 27%. Point source emissions are calculated using PM10 measured via stack tests and total gas flow allocated to each unit and converted to PM2.5 using a factor of 0.58. The observed decrease in emissions directly aligns with the decrease in PM10 measured via stack tests.
AGL Torrens emissions decreased 44%. The decrease in emissions aligns with the overall decrease in pipeline natural gas combustion at Torrens Island Power Station and Barker Inlet Power Station.
FY26 data includes emissions associated with the combustion of black coal and diesel at the Bayswater Power Station, black and brown coal as well as natural gas at AGL Loy Yang, and natural gas and fuel oil at AGL Torrens. It also includes estimates of fugitive emissions at these sites. The remaining data will be made available in November 2026. |
For the purposes of this data set, AGL Torrens comprises the Torrens Island Power Station and the Barker Inlet Power Station. |

AGL Torrens emissions are calculated from the application of emission factors to the quantity of fuel combusted at Torrens Island Power Station and Barker Inlet Power Station. In FY26, these emission factors for Barker Inlet Power Station were updated due to more accurate emissions and pollutant reduction factors in the NPI guidance manual. |
AGL Loy Yang natural gas use for June 2026 was estimated. This will be updated in November 2026. |
