Air emissions - sulphur dioxide (SO2)
AGL Loy Yang sulphur dioxide emissions decreased 12% in FY26. The decrease in emissions aligns with the decrease in coal combustion and total electricity generation in the reporting period.
Bayswater Power Station sulphur dioxide emissions decreased 11% in FY26. The observed decrease in emissions occured with the slight decrease in black coal combustion and also a slight decrease in average sulphur content of black coal.
AGL Torrens sulphur dioxide emissions decreased 28%. The decrease in emissions aligns with the overall decrease in pipeline natural gas and light fuel oil combustion at AGL Torrens.
FY26 data includes emissions associated with the combustion of black coal and diesel at the Bayswater Power Station, black and brown coal as well as natural gas at AGL Loy Yang, and natural gas and fuel oil at AGL Torrens. It also includes estimates of fugitive emissions at these sites. The remaining data will be made available in November 2026. |
For the purposes of this data set, AGL Torrens comprises the Torrens Island Power Station and the Barker Inlet Power Station. |
