Water withdrawal by source
There was a 1% increase in surface water withdrawal compared to FY25. Surface water withdrawal decreased 2% at AGL Loy Yang and increased 4% at Bayswater.
Groundwater withdrawal increased 18%, mostly driven by a 17% increase at AGL Loy Yang. AGL Loy Yang is the highest contributor to groundwater withdrawal.
Municipal water withdrawal decreased 3%. While the highest contributor, AGL Loy Yang, remained similar to the previous year, there was a 44% decrease at Kwinana Swift Power Station and a 6% decrease at AGL Torrens that resulted in an overall decrease in municipal water withdrawal.
AGL Macquarie was the only facility that reported rainwater withdrawal in FY26.
