Greenhouse gas emissions by greenhouse gas type

FY26 data will be available in November 2026, following submission of AGL's Section 19 Report under the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act. However, FY26 Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions associated with the combustion of black coal and diesel at Bayswater Power Station and brown coal and natural gas at AGL Loy Yang (together representing over 95% of Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions) is available here.

Notes

FY25 data was updated in November 2025. Data was not available at the time of the initial release of the FY25 Data Centre on 13 August 2025.

Data includes all AGL's operated Scope 1 emissions. This comprises all direct emissions at facilities within AGL’s operated boundary. Operational control is as defined by the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007.

Greenhouse gas emissions have been calculated in accordance with the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Scheme.

Quantities have been rounded to the nearest 1000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (ktCO2e).

Nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) emissions are not reportable under the NGER scheme. AGL does not emit or handle NF3 at any facilities within our operated boundary.
