Operational greenhouse gas emissions and net energy production
Scope 1 and 2 emissions reduced in FY26, driven by a reduction in generation from Loy Yang A Power Station, reduced emissions intensity of coal-fired generation, and reduced gas-fired generation volumes.
FY26 emissions data is estimated based on measured data inputs for material sources, which make up over 95% of total Scope 1 and 2 emissions, with estimates for minor sources. Net energy production volumes were not available at the time of the initial release of the FY26 Data Centre. Data will be finalised and updated in November 2026. |
Includes Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions for assets over which AGL had operational control during the period (as defined by the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act). |
Greenhouse gas emissions have been calculated in accordance with the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Scheme. |
Net energy production includes sent-out generation from AGL's operated power stations, coal sales from the AGL Loy Yang Mine and cogeneration steam production, and in applicable periods also includes gas sales from operated gas production assets, and the production of LPG, condensate and gas at the Wallumbilla LPG plant. This does not include any energy production for use within AGL's operated facilities. |
