Electricity output by primary energy source
Total electricity generation volumes decreased in FY26 for both AGL's operated, and operated and contracted, generation portfolio. The decrease was driven by reduced generation from Loy Yang A Power Station, lower gas-fired generation volumes and decreased hydro generation due to planned outages and reduced downstream water releases.
This was partly offset by higher generation from wind assets. Operated wind generation increased largely due to higher availability for operated wind assets. Increased operated and contracted wind generation was also driven by the first full year of generation from the Rye Park Wind Farm PPA following its commencement in April 2025.

Operated data relates to grid-connected generation facilities over which AGL has operational control during the reporting period, as defined by the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act. |
Operated and contracted data relates to grid-connected generation facilities which fit within AGL's operated and contracted boundary. AGL’s operated and contracted boundary includes any grid-connected electricity assets (generation or storage asset excluding behind the meter assets): a) which AGL has operational or financial control of, as defined by the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007; or b) in respect of which AGL has virtual or physical offtake or nomination rights, in proportion to AGL's share of such rights. |
In FY24, AGL and Tilt Renewables agreed to terminate agreements pursuant to which AGL provided asset management and agency and dispatch services in respect of certain assets owned by Tilt Renewables, namely Nyngan Solar Plant, Broken Hill Solar Plant, Coopers Gap Wind Farm and Silverton Wind Farm. As a result, from June 2024 (for Nyngan Solar Plant, Coopers Gap Wind Farm and Silverton Wind Farm) and July 2024 (for Broken Hill Solar Plant), Tilt Renewables is responsible for operations and maintenance for each facility, while AGL continues to have offtake agreements in respect of these assets. |
Data comprises sent out generation volumes. The difference between sent out generation and pool generation volume for generation assets is due to auxiliary load and marginal loss factors. |
